Spetz Gear designed the Speed Lock Retention System with a patent pending closed retention (Level 2) hood that meets the holster requirements of many large professional agencies.
The SpeedLock Gen 2 keeps the proven release mechanism of the original and adds an improved top strap, with its thickness raised from .060 to .093, plus reinforced pivot points.
The thumb release is sized and placed for a sure, repeatable release every time you take a firm grip, all in a single motion. You do not need to adjust your grip before or after drawing the pistol.
Its smooth-action thumb release frees the spring-loaded hood in a fraction of a second, so the handgun can come out the moment your grip is set. Pressing the release and securing the grip happen together, with no separate forward movement needed.
Because it unlocks with a rearward motion, it saves space between the retention system and the mounting platform. The thumb does not have to push down and out toward the body, which makes this retention well suited to a chest rig or vest carrier system.
The Speed Lock was built for compatibility and keeps the same mounting pattern as the common WRS, so you can adapt it without redesigning a holster or mold. Choose your carry orientation, color and hardware option above.
