DIY Leather Sheath Kits for Knives, Tomahawks and Tools
Shop leather sheath kits for skinners, Bowies, filet knives, folders and tomahawks, plus a belt pouch kit that holds multi-tools and a 2AA mini flashlight. Black and espresso cowhide cover most of the lineup, the tomahawk kit adds London Tan, and select sizes offer an Ultraweave engraved front panel.
The standard kit holds Bowie and camp knives up to 11.25 inches for hunting, camping and bushcraft. A filet knife up to 12 inches gets a belt-carried sheath for days on the water, and skinners up to 6 inches sit under a snap retainer. Everyday fixed blades up to 5, 7 or 8 inches ride in the belt carry pouch sheath with its built-in loop, and a pre-attached snap closes the 5 inch natural leather kit.
An everyday folder rides at a 45 degree tilt in the Large or Small angled pouch, which speeds the draw, while the Medium pouch suits knives about 4.5 to 6 inches closed. All three angled pouches go on either hip and fit belts as wide as 1.75 inches. A tomahawk sheath with a carrying handle and a swing grip enhancer fits blades up to 4 inches. Clip the multi-tool pouch to your belt and a 2AA light rides with up to four tools or knives, each up to 4 inches closed.
Most of these sheaths are cut from 8-9 oz top-grain cowhide made in the USA, a sturdy weight for a long filet blade or a Bowie on the belt. When a blade falls between two sizes, send us its measurements, or head back to DIY Kits/Shells to compare the thermoform sheath kits.
