CURV® Composite Sheet for Flat Holster Components
Shop CURV® for the flat components of holster making, where a stiff, impact-resistant, lightweight sheet is needed. The self-reinforced thermoplastic composite comes in Black, Coyote Brown and Ranger Green, cut 8in x 12in, 1ft x 1ft, 1ft x 2ft or 2ft x 4ft.
Holster makers most often mill, laser or waterjet cut CURV® into flat components with high-performance properties. Heat-compacted woven polymer fibers give the sheet its strength and impact resistance with no extra support structure, and its stiffness at a low density saves weight over traditional plastics and composites.
CURV® does not thermoform like KYDEX® at the same temperatures. It can be pressure-thermoformed into complex shapes, and if you are doing that for the first time, reach out to us for thermoforming information and procedures before you heat a sheet.
Freezing temperatures leave its impact and crack resistance intact, and because CURV® is chemically inert, most solvents and cleaning agents have no effect on it. Being pure thermoplastic without glass fiber, it recycles easily. The holster shell itself is thermoformed from forming sheet such as KYDEX®, which you will find with the rest of our holster making materials.
