Holster Backers for Hybrid Holsters and Chest Rigs
Shop backers that pair with a KYDEX®, HOLSTEX®, or BOLTARON® shell to create a hybrid holster, plus a multi-mount backer that serves as the base of a chest rig. Choose from left- or right-hand cowhide leather backers in Small or Medium, the mesh-grid EDC Backer from MatchPoint USA, and a chest backer with more than 280 mounting holes.
For a leather-backed hybrid holster, start with the CKK-designed cowhide backer. Its 8-9 oz leather balances durability with enough flex for comfort, and a sweat guard is built in. It arrives undrilled, in black or brown and sized for small to medium firearms, so the hole layout is yours to set.
If you would rather build on Comfortuff 420, the MatchPoint USA EDC Backer is breathable, soft to the touch, odorless and sweat-proof, and it cleans up in the dishwasher. Common holster mounting hardware attaches your shell to the front, while the mesh grid gives you room to adjust the carry angle. The USA-made Chest Carry Backer by CKK Industries gives a custom chest rig its mounting platform. Its holes are precision-cut 0.225 inches across to accept most standard holster hardware posts, and with more than 280 of them you can shift the cant angle and strap placement until the rig sits secure and ergonomic. Tegris® versions come in a rugged 12-layer black as well as Coyote Brown and Silver, and the backer is also offered in Ranger Green CURV® or black leather.
