CURV®, offered here in Ranger Green, is the world's first self-reinforced, 100% thermoplastic composite material. First introduced in 2007, CURV® is a self-reinforced thermoplastic composite that provides superior impact resistance and stiffness when compared to conventional plastics. CURV’s lightweight strength and durability make it an excellent improvement over both plastics and traditional composites in many applications. It is made of heat-compacted woven polymer fibers and requires no additional support structure to maintain its strength or impact resistance. CURV® provides superior impact strength, stiffness, weight savings, and recyclability with unique aesthetics and can be pressure-thermoformed into complex parts. CURV® has high stiffness and low density, enabling significant weight savings when replacing traditional plastics and composites. CURV® is pure thermoplastic, does not contain glass fiber, and is easy to recycle. CURV® has increased impact and crack resistance at freezing temperatures, making it superior for cold weather applications. CURV® is chemically inert and impervious to most solvents and cleaning agents.

Note: This product is most commonly used for flat part productions within the holster-making industry and does not thermoform like KYDEX® at the same temperature ranges. If you are creating thermoformed parts from CURV® sheet and have not used this material before, please contact us for thermoforming information and procedures. This product can be milled, lasered, and/or waterjet cut to create custom-formed flat parts with high performance characteristics.
