A formed holster edge goes from rough to smooth in stages. Flexible non-woven flap wheels follow the curves of KYDEX®, HOLSTEX®, Boltaron® and Concealex® holsters, knife sheaths and magazine carriers while keeping chatter and heat down. Pick 400, 600 or 800 grit in a 4 x 0.50, 4 x 1.187 or 6 x 0.50 inch size, each with a 0.500 inch arbor hole. On a belt sander, our wet or dry aluminum oxide belts fit standard 1 x 42 and 2 x 72 machines, run 120 to 600 grit, and come as a 1-pack or 5-pack.
By hand, start with 9 x 11 inch aluminum oxide wet/dry sheets in 10-packs from 120 through 2000 grit, using 600 grit to smooth KYDEX® edges. Silicon carbide sheets add coarser 60 and 80 grit, and sanding sponges in 60 and 100 grit keep pressure even along a curved edge. Cloth-backed 8 inch hook-and-loop discs come as a 1-pack or 10-pack for quick grit changes. Combat Abrasives® belts, starting at 24 grit ceramic Shredder, take on heavier metal grinding, and 2 x 72 surface conditioning belts deburr and blend.
Buff holster hardware on 16-ply Airway™ wheels, red first treat through white soft treat, each with its matching Maverick™ compound bar. Held to a running belt, the natural rubber cleaning stick can extend belt life up to 50 percent, and the Maverick™ grease stick keeps coarse grits cutting.
