Achieve a professional-quality finish with Airway Buffing Wheels, engineered to deliver superior polishing performance while helping reduce heat buildup during operation. Unlike traditional stitched buffing wheels, the unique airway design promotes airflow through the wheel, allowing better temperature control during polishing. Reduced heat helps minimize the risk of overheating your workpiece while producing cleaner, more consistent results.
Available in multiple treatments for progressive polishing, these 16-ply buffing wheels are designed to take your project from initial cutting through final mirror finishing. Begin with the cutting wheel to remove sanding scratches, continue with the medium polishing wheel to develop a rich luster, and finish with the soft wheel to achieve an exceptional high-gloss shine. Whether you're polishing knife blades, bolsters, guards, hardware, or other metal components, these wheels provide the performance demanded by professional knife makers and metal craftsmen.
For optimal results, pair each wheel with the recommended polishing compound and work through the polishing sequence from the most aggressive to the finest finish.
Recommended Polishing Sequence
Step 1: Red Treat Airway Buffing Wheel + Black Compound Bar
Removes approximately 400-grit sanding scratches and prepares the surface for polishing.
Step 2: Pink Treat Airway Buffing Wheel + Green Rouge Compound Bar
Produces a smooth, medium-high luster while refining the finish.
Step 3: Soft Treat Airway Buffing Wheel + Purple Compound Bar (Optional)
Creates an ultra-high luster and mirror-like finish.
Safety Note
Always wear appropriate eye protection and a properly fitted respirator when buffing or polishing to reduce exposure to airborne polishing compounds and metal particles.
