Retention Plates for Molding Gun Holsters
Shop gun holster retention plates, USA-made molding jigs that cut setup time and give every holster you form for a given model a consistent fit. Plates come in steel or MDF for Glock, S&W M&P, Sig Sauer P320, Springfield, H&K, Chiappa, Bersa, SCCY, Staccato and other makes, as a 1-pack or as a 0.125 inch steel split-mold pair.
A molded gun holster gets its retention and clearance at the prep stage. Each plate here acts as a spacer around the firearm while the thermoform sheet forms, giving the holster a secure fit. Because the spacing comes from the plate, it stays the same from one holster to a full batch, and setup takes less time.
If you mold for Glock, there are two steel styles for the 17, 19, 26, 29, 34, 42 and 43, plus the 42 and 43 with a TLR6. One is a 0.250 inch plate sold as a 1-pack, the other a 0.125 inch split-mold set built for vacuum press molding and sold as a pair. The M&P Compact and M&P Shield 45 come in both styles too, while the 1911 (5"), FNX 45, Sig Sauer P320 Compact, M&P Shield 9/40 and Springfield XD MOD II 3 inch each have a 0.250 inch steel plate.
Both materials are offered at 0.1875 inch for three Springfield Hellcat fits, the OSP/Micro Compact, PRO/PRO Compact and RDP. MDF plates at that thickness also cover the Beretta 92 FS, Bersa BPCC and MC9L, FN 502 and 509, HK45, H&K CC9, Ruger LCP MAX and Security 9, SCCY CPX-1, Staccato C and more. Separate steel plates fit the Beretta 92/96 Full Size at 0.1875 inch and the 1911 Full Size at 0.187 inch. When a mold also needs a sight channel or light clearance, look under Molding Preparation for dowels and widgets, and our holster shop can answer model fit questions.
