Dowel Rods for Sight Clearance in Gun Holsters
Shop sight channel dowels for gun holster molding, giving the front and rear sights clearance in the finished shell. Every pack holds five wood rods, each 6.0 inches long and 0.375 inch thick, ready to trim to the gap on your gun.
Measure the distance from the rear sight to the front sight, cut a piece of dowel to that length and secure it with removable tape before the sheet goes on. The formed holster then has a sight channel where the dowel sat.
The other rods in the pack stay on hand for the next gun you mold. Once the sight channel is set, pick out a retention plate or slide spacer for your gun from molding preparation. For a second opinion on sight clearance before you press, send our shop your model.
