Holster Making Tools and Molding Equipment

Shop holster tools for the whole build, whether you are setting retention on a Glock, M&P or Hellcat before molding or flaring the last eyelet on a finished shell. VacuForge™ vacuum presses, bench and taco presses, eyelet setting dies, solvents and flap wheels fill the steps between, and combo kits group the core tools for anyone starting out.

Before the sheet sees heat, molding preparation gets the gun ready with retention plates for Glock, M&P, Hellcat, 1911 and other handguns, dowel rods that hold the sight channel open and widgets that make room for a weapon light. Its steel templates mark holes for Tek-Lok, FOMI clip and Ulticlip attachments. The prepped gun is wrapped in sheet warmed by a heat gun from heat and forming tools, then pressed in a VacuForge™, a foam bench press or a fold-over taco press from molding presses and foam.

With the shell molded, mark the trim line and eyelet spots with the Hobart® soapstone pencil in design and layout tools, then open holes with #6 and #8 eyelet drills or 8-piece punch sets from drilling and cutting. In eyelet and snap setting, a hand setter and hammer roll an eyelet with a little practice, while Master Series dies in a flaring press give a controlled, repeatable result. Vibra-Tite™ threadlockers in adhesives hold hardware screws and M-Weld™ or E-Weld™ solvent fuses seams, while Brass Black™ in finishes and dyes blackens worn eyelets.

Leather or hybrid builders can add 3D stamping dies and a burnishing tool from leather tooling, and the 400 to 800 grit flap wheels in sanding and polishing give a thermoform shell its finished edge. Combo kits cover tool sets built around a bench or taco press, KYDEX® starter kits with sheet and dies, and a Hardware Kit of posts and screws for restocking. Building around a weapon light such as a TLR6? Send us the gun model before you prep the mold.
