Maverick Metal Polishing Compound Bars help you get cleaner cuts, smoother finishes and professional-level polish results. They are designed for use with airway buffing wheels and help maximize cutting and polishing performance through each stage of the finishing process. From taking sanding scratches out of steel and refining a surface to polishing handle materials and producing a mirror finish, Maverick compounds give you the control and consistency precision work calls for.
Maverick formulates each compound in the line for a single stage of polishing. The coarser bars handle initial scratch removal and surface preparation, and the finer bars refine the finish and draw out a high-luster or mirror shine. Coat the edge of your buffing wheel with compound, then work through your polishing steps, moving from the aggressive cutting compounds to the finer finishing compounds.
Before you change to a different compound, rake the previous compound off the wheel edge for the best results.
Compound Options
- Maverick Black, a first-cut compound that removes initial 320 and 400 grit sanding scratches from steel
- Maverick Blue, a high-luster finishing compound designed to bring out a bright polished surface
- Maverick Green Rouge, a high-luster coloring compound that gives steel a darker, richer finish

- Maverick White, a high-luster #1 finishing compound that refines and enhances polished surfaces
Wearing a respirator is highly recommended any time you are buffing and polishing. Keep the work area properly ventilated and use personal protective equipment while you operate the wheel.
